Construction of this 52 km section of the highway that connects the capital city Ankara to the Black Sea Region had started in 1999. The project was initially financed by the World Bank (IBRD) but it has been transferred to the National budget since 2003. Initially, the road was designed as a two lane highway but it was revised as a 2x2 double carriageway by the Employer due to increasing number of vehicles and this had more than doubled the quantity of the works. Final design of the Sungurlu city pass was performed by the in-house design office of the company. The project also Covers the construction of 10 bridges. Within the scope of the project; 6.88 million m3 of earthworks, 1 525 000 tons of sub base-base works, 780 000 tons of hot bitiminous concrete works have been completed.
